Six teachers, five years later

By Interviews by Todd Friedman on May 18, 2009 11:05 AM

Five years ago, The Notebook profiled six Philadelphia teachers who were recent arrivals to the District, during a period when the system was experiencing record turnover and having great difficulty filling its vacancies.

The Notebook recently tracked down the same six individuals to find out whether they stuck with it and to hear their reflections on their teaching experience.

Today, none of the teachers is still in their original school. Just two of the six are still teaching full-time in the District.

Here are their stories - then and now.
