In a 2011 event sponsored by ASAP, students participated in a Scrabble tournament at the School District's headquarters.

After School Activities Partnerships (ASAP) has released its annual directory of afterschool programs. The directory, which is estimated to reach 150,000 households, includes more than 900 listings and thousands of afterschool opportunities aimed at keeping Philadelphia’s youth safe after the final class bells ring.

ASAP’s directory is available as a searchable database on the organization’s website, and it contains innovative features and filter options to better allow families to make educated decisions about how their children spend their afternoons. Parents can use a “Directory Quick Search” of available programs or type in specific search terms to select particular programs based on zip code, grade level, transportation provided, and time.

Through a partnership with the civic hacking group Code for Philly and the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Civic Technology, the guide is now accessible as a feature of the Philly311 Mobile App, downloadable for free on any iPhone, Android, or Blackberry device.

The directory was also published as a supplement to the Daily News

Printed copies of the directory are available at city schools, libraries, offices, and recreational centers. You can request a copy by contacting ASAP’s directory coordinator, Paul Carroll, at 215-545-2727 ext. 11.
